In the 18th century, Mir Qasim attempted to conquer Nepal, but his forces were once again defeated by the Gorkha army, preventing foreign domination.Between 1814 and 1816, Nepal engaged in a war with the British, known as the Gorkha War. The conflict ended without a decisive victory for either side.The war between the British and Nepal concluded with the Treaty of Sugauli, where Nepal ceded the Kumaon and Garhwal regions to the British.
