পুলিস সূত্রে খবর, উত্তরপ্রদেশের হাথরাস থেকে রওনা দিয়েছিল বাসটি। গন্তব্য ছিল, জম্ম-কাশ্মীরের রেয়াসি জেলা শিবকোরি মন্দির। জম্মু-পুঞ্চ জাতীয় সড়কে একটি কালী মন্দিরের কাছে নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারান চালক। এরপর বাসটি উল্টে পড়ে রাস্তা পাসে খাদে! দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে আখনুর শহরে। আহতেরা ভর্তি স্থানীয় একটি হাসপাতাল ও জম্মু সরকারি মেডিক্যাল কলেজে। জম্মু জেলাশাসক এক বিবৃতিতে জানিয়েছে, 'উত্তরপ্রদেশের হাথরাস থেকে আসার পথে জম্মুর আখনুর শহরের তান্ডা এলাকায় দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ে একটি যাত্রীবাহী বাস। উদ্ধারকাজ চলছে'।
