Since a blockchain network is a system of record that can be used to trace and authenticate objects as they move through the supply chain, a digital record of every transaction or interaction can be created for food products.
The entire food industry is subject to recalls for all food products. We started with the idea of getting more involved with recalls, as this would help save money and ensure that consumers wouldn’t be affected by contaminated food, said Livingston. However, we started to see growth in the solution more around decision making in the supply chain.
