He was willing to support a shutdown of the government to have American taxpayers pay for a wall between the United States and Mexico. Trump has complained that the troops at the border aren’t allowed to be as “rough” as he would like.
Trump’s support for violence against those hoping to immigrate to the United States isn’t an isolated incident. The president said migrants seeking legal asylum should be shot and if you’re fine with that you’re a racist full stop. “Why are we just apprehending them and not lining them up and shooting them? We have to go back to Hitler days and put them all in a gas chamber.”
