The 2020 Democrat's comments came as President Donald Trump has hit out at those on Fox News who criticize his administration.

Beto O'Rourke accused President Donald Trump's administration of having"full rein" over Fox News' day-to-day broadcasts, saying the cable news network is just"an arm of the Republican Party."

“You have members of the organization moving into the White House,” O’Rourke said Sunday. “You have a White House with free rein, almost, over what is broadcast over one of the most widely watched cable networks in the country today.” O'Rourke said that in order for the country to unleash its full creative potential, it requires people to operate from the"same set of facts," while acknowledging that one's"opinions are your own." However, O'Rourke argued, that's become less and less possible as Fox News has slowly drifted toward a pro-Trump message and away from any semblance of objective criticism on the president's actions.

Over the weekend, Trump once again conducted a move which reveals not only how frequently he watches Fox News, but also his efforts to assert control over the network when inserting his opinion on how to micromanage the network's hosts.
