David Perron’s second-period goal broke the deadlock and Jordan Binnington made 22 saves as the visiting St. Louis Blues beat the Dallas Stars 4-1 Sunday afternoon to force a Game 7 in their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series.
A pair of goals 33 seconds apart before the midway point of the third period sealed the deal. First, Jaden Schwartz netted his team-high eighth goal of the postseason on a somewhat controversial play at 7:37. Stars goalie Ben Bishop took a high shot from Colton Parayko and was on the ice writhing in pain when Alex Steen fired a rebound that Schwartz deflected. Because the Stars didn’t gain possession, the referees didn’t blow the whistle.
