Chevron to buy Anadarko Petroleum in $33 billion cash-and-stock deal
Energy giant Chevron Corp. CVX, +0.40% on Friday morning said it would acquire Anadarko Petroleum Corp. APC, +0.00% in a cash-and-stock tie-up valued at $33 billion or $65 a share. Chevron will issue 0.3869 shares and $16.25 in cash for each Anadarko share. The deal, if approved by regulators and shareholders, is expected to close in the second half of 2019. Shares of Chevron in premarket action on Friday were down 1.6%, while those for Anadarko, based on The Woodlands, Texas, were up 33%.
