China may withdraw from this week's trade talks with U.S.: report
China may pull out of trade talks scheduled for this week in Washington after President Donald Trump said he would raise tariffs on $200 billion in Chinese goods to 25%, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday. Trump announced his plans in a pair of Sunday morning tweets, which reportedly took Chinese officials by surprise. Negotiations are scheduled to resume Wednesday in Washington, and last week U.S. officials seemed hopeful that a trade deal could be agreed upon by the end of this week.
