Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong portfolio and practical design experience, producing creative visual solutions whilst observing best practices. Coding skills and web development knowledge are a must, strong CSS and HTML at the bare minimum.• Deliver excellent design across our product base while articulating and upholding the brand values
• Follow closely the guidance of The Economist’s Design System in order to integrate styling and components within new and existing digital products• Clearly communicate your design rationale with the confidence to present your work to your peers and stakeholders • Keep up-to-date on innovations in the design world, and use this to keep your output fresh and relevant• An excellent eye for detail and firm understanding of typographic principles• Expert knowledge of CSS, HTML, and the ability to use rapid prototyping tools• Experience working across digital platforms and devices, including design for different screen sizes• Experience of working to tight deadlines• A keen interest in global politics and current affairs• A good level of general education,...
