Arizona Cardinals select QB Kyler Murray as No. 1 pick in NFL draft in historic move

The Oklahoma quarterback was selected No. 1 overall by the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, making him the first player ever to be taken in the first round of both the NFL and MLB drafts. The decision gives first-year Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury a catalyst for his newly installed Air Raid offense. While still serving as Texas Tech's coach last year, Kingsbury heaped praise on Murray by saying, "Kyler is a freak. I would take him with the first pick of the draft if I could."Not long after Kingsbury's hire in January, speculation that he would try to follow through on that hypothetical amplified.
Murray's arrival leaves incumbent starting quarterback Josh Rosen, for whom the Cardinals traded up to draft No. 10 overall last season, in limbo.
