LSE’s new chief faces growth conundrum peter_tl
London Stock Exchange Group on March 1 reported operating profit up 14 percent to 751 million pounds for 2018, helped by strong growth in its index and post-trade clearing businesses.
The first set of results since the arrival of new Chief Executive David Schwimmer showed revenue rose 8 per cent to 1.9 billion pounds. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 17 percent to top 1 billion pounds for the first time. Earnings per share fell to 138 pence, from 146 pence a year earlier, largely due to a one-off amortisation charge.
The LSE is recommending a final dividend of 43.2 pence per share, taking the full-year dividend to 60.4 pence per share, a 17 percent increase on 2017.
