ON Semiconductor Corp. ON, -2.10% said late Wednesday it was acquiring wifi tech company Quantenna Communications Inc. QTNA, -0.15% for just north of $1 billion in cash, or $24.50 a share, for a premium of nearly 20%. Quantenna shares, which were halted before the announcement, closed down 0.2% Wednesday at $20.50. ON shares rose 1.5% after hours, following a 2.1% decline to close at $20.56. ON said the offer represents equity value of about $1.
