Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg distanced himself from his past use of the phrase 'all lives matter' and vowed to tackle racial inequality at the National Action Network convention
NEW YORK—Pete Buttigieg engaged in a rite of passage for Democratic presidential hopefuls Thursday, seizing the spotlight here at the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention.
The South Bend, Ind., mayor, who has climbed from the bottom tier of presidential candidates with rising poll numbers and solid fund raising, outlined how he would tackle racial inequality, and he distanced himself from his past use of the phrase “all lives matter.”
