A selective NYC school said it erroneously rejected 144 students last month
A mistake in the city’s high-anxiety admissions process has led the New York City Department of Education to inform 144 students that they had erroneously been denied spots in a sought-after high school and that they have been admitted after all.
Parents said the mistake caused heartache for some high-achieving eighth-graders whose top choice was New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies in Manhattan and who were rejected last month.
