White House receives House Judiciary chair Jerry Nadler's request for documents as corruption probe kicks off

The White House said Monday that it received, and plans to respond to, a request for documents sought by House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler as his committee kicks off investigations into alleged obstruction of justice and corruption.

In an interview Sunday on ABC News'"This Week," Nadler said that the president's son, Donald Trump, Jr., and Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, would be among that list of more than five dozen individuals. Other officials in the White House, the Justice Department and the Trump Organization would also be asked for documents, Nadler said.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed Monday morning that Nadler had sent the request."The House Judiciary Committee's letter has been received by the White House. The counsel's Office and relevant White House officials will review it and respond at the appropriate time," Sanders said in a statement. ABC TWEET"Do you think the president obstructed justice?"
