From the academic year 2025-26, a key change is occurring in all schools in Andhra Pradesh. Specifically, changes are coming to the examination pattern of classes 9 and 10. The marks for the examinations of these two classes will be changed. The existing system of 100 marks for each subject will be replaced by an 80-mark system. The government has decided to change the marking system in line with the implementation of the NCERT syllabus in the state. The new system will have an 80-mark examination and 20 marks allocated internally. The internal assessment system, which was prevalent in the CBSE pattern, will be implemented in AP. As both the syllabus and the examinations are transitioning to the CBSE pattern, the internal assessment system will be adopted. The government is considering a mechanism to prevent private educational institutions from arbitrarily assigning internal marks, as they were seen to assign excessive marks in the past. The format of formative assessment is being changed. Currently, 20 marks are allocated for written exams, 10 for projects, 10 for student response, and 10 for notebooks. This distribution is being revised, with an increase in the weight assigned to written exams. Currently, the internal assessment system is available up to class 8. Now, it will be applicable to classes 9 and 10 as well. This means that public examinations for class 10 will be for 80 marks, with the remaining 20 marks awarded based on internal assessments conducted at the school level.

AP 10th Exams Pattern: ఏపీలోని అన్ని స్కూళ్లలో 2025-26 విద్యా సంవత్సరం నుంచి కీలక మార్పు చోటుచేసుకోనుంది. ముఖ్యంగా 9, 10 తరగతి పరీక్షా విధానంలో మార్పులు రానున్నాయి. ఇకపై ఈ రెండు తరగతుల పరీక్షల మార్కులు మారనున్నాయి. ఏపీలో తొమ్మిది, పదో తరగతి పరీక్షల్లో మార్పులు రానున్నాయి. ఇప్పటి వరకూ ఉన్న సబ్జెక్ట్‌కు వంద మార్కుల పద్ధతి మారనుంది. ఇకపై ప్రతి సబ్జెక్టు 80 మార్కులకే ఉంటుంది. రాష్ట్రంలో ఎన్‌సీఈఆర్‌టి సిలబస్ అమలు చేస్తున్న క్రమంలో మార్కుల విదానం మార్చేందుకు నిర్ణయించింది ప్రభుత్వం. అంటే 80 మార్కులకు పరీక్ష ఉంటుంది. మరో 20 మార్కులు ఇంటర్నెల్‌గా ఉంటాయి. సీబీఎస్ఈ విధానంలో ఉండే ఇంటర్నల్ విధానం ఇకపై ఏపీలో అమలు కానుంది.
అయితే ఇంటర్నల్ మార్కుల్ని ప్రైవేట్ విద్యా సంస్థలు ఇష్టారాజ్యంగా వేసుకోకుండా ఉండేందుకు పగడ్బందీ విధానం కోసం ప్రభుత్వం యోచిస్తోంది. ప్రస్తుతం ఫార్మేటివ్ విధానంలో మార్పు చేసింది. పార్మేటివ్ 3 వరకూ రాత పరీక్షకు 20, ప్రాజెక్టులకు 10, విద్యార్ధి స్పందనకు 10, నోట్ బుక్స్‌కు 10 మార్కులు కేటాయించేవారు. ఇప్పుడీ మార్కుల్ని మార్చింది. రాత పరీక్ష వెయిటేజ్ పెంచింది. ప్రస్తుతం ఇంటర్నల్ మార్కుల విధానం 8వ తరగతి వరకూ అందుబాటులో ఉంది. ఇకపై 9, 10 తరగతులకు కూడా ఈ విధానం అమలు కానుంది.
